“We need some steps for our library that look really beautiful”

The design for the steps was based on a wishbone. The finished piece had to be dynamic but graceful and stand in public view in the library of a law firm. Our brief was to make a ladder look like a sculpture, but to retain the full functionality and safety of any proprietary steps.

We first made models, and then a full size mock-up which was moulded and then cast into aluminium before being polished.
